WHITESNAKE was named for a white albino ball python snake that was owned by David Coverdale while he was in in DEEP PURPLE.
The band spells the name as one word, but David Coverdale
released a solo album titled White Snake
prior to forming the band.Whitesnake was #85 in VH1's list of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.
